STAFFWATCH – Kenneth Söderberg
Hi, Kenneth Söderberg!
How long have you worked in die-casting?
“About 30 years or so. I’m part of the production team here at Gjuteriteknik. On the service side.
If there’s any kind of problem, I fix it. Or I get on with improvement work; so right now, for instance, I’m working on soundproofing.”
You sound like some kind of Mr Fixit, but specialising in die-casting!
“Hahaha, yes more or less! Over the years I’ve gained experience in most things relating to machines and die-casting processes.”
Can you listen to a machine and HEAR what’s wrong??
“Well, let’s not exaggerate; but I do have a few magical powers.”
Sounds just about right. What do you do in your free time?
“I cycle, run and I’m a cross-country skier.”
How much training do you do?
“Around 12 hours a week.”
Wow. What are you aiming for right now in your training? I guess you’re busy with improvement work there too.
“Right now my objective is the Vasaloppet cross-country ski race in March. I’ve got to improve my time from around 6 hours to 5 hours 30. There – now I’ve let the cat out of the bag!”
Good luck!
“Thank you.”
